I recently went to Pino Resto Bar at Jupiter St. in Makati for the recent Punchdrunk Panda HOHOL. Again, another new amazing place was discovered because of these PdP Hohols.

PINO is Fine Filipino Food. PINO transforms favourite Filipino fare into creative dishes, surprisingly combining flavours, textures and ingredients. PINO is passionate about giving you delicious food that comes from the heart.”

Pino’s Flagship Dish: Kare-Kareng Bagnet: three-pieces of crispy Ilocano pork-belly cuts sitting on top of creamy peanut-butter sauce and bagoong rice.

Pino’s Noteworthy favorites: “Crispy Tenderloin Tapsilog”, breaded beef tenderloin tips on gravy, with three- piece quail eggs on longganisa rice, and recent addition “Chicken Binakol”, tinola-style coconut juice soup with breaded quail eggs and papaya.

Patterns…and just Patterns…

Some patterns are man-made and natural. There is a visual rhythm and harmony in patterns when photographed. It’s like a series of repetitive notes in a melody and it captures one’s imagination. A lot of visual elements (colors, lines, shapes, or forms) are on repeat and these make the pattern more visible. Once you become aware of its power, you will discover them almost everywhere.

The major point to remember in emphasizing a pattern is to isolate it from its surroundings. Through this process, the design is more striking and the effect of illusion of repetition is infinite. So basically, the aim is to make the pattern infinite, that by looking a photograph, the pattern must have a feel that it goes beyond the 4 corners of the photo.

Suggested Lenses for Patterns:Telephoto and Zoom Lenses in which both of these are great in isolating the designs/patterns.

Common Mistakes in Taking a Photograph

image

It is said in photography that your first 10,000 shots are the worst and you might find your best after those shots. Well, that must be true for all of us who just love to take snapshots of things when we got to hold of our very first own camera. The fact of that act is that us photographers want to try new things and experiment with our camera. Those first shots were part of our training to become better in this field so-called Photography. And never think of those shots as a waste. Never

If you have a camera, don’t be afraid to take the shot that you’ve always wanted. It will be a rewarding feeling if you go and take it if there’s a chance given.

UST Photowalk

It was a day worth remembering. A day where I just feel free. Yes, I recently finished my studies in UST with a degree of BS Management Accounting. It was a rough 4 and a half years but all of it was worth the wait. And in this set are shots of things that you see around the UST and were taken almost a month after my last days in UST.

This set also features the famous UST Christmas Tree when it was being constructed at the UST Grand Stand.

Click here for my random snapshots.
